Senior Town Planner - 1-Year Infrastructure Contract
Location: Nerang, Gold Coast Region | Classification: PO4 Level | Contract: 12months - with possible extension.

This is an exceptional opportunity to move beyond routine assessments and directly shape the delivery of a critical transport corridor project in Queensland's booming Southeast. We are seeking a high-calibre Contractor (Senior Town Planner) to provide specialised planning governance and expertise for the Coomera Connector Stage 2.

Your Impact: Planning and Governance Leadership
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be the key link between planning legislation, project delivery, and land management. Your work will ensure the transport corridor is protected and the project meets all statutory obligations.
Your core responsibilities will include:
...- Land & Environmental Strategy: Coordinate and project manage the critical identification and acquisition of both environmental offset and project land. This involves intense collaboration with multiple internal teams and external project advisors.
- Statutory Planning Expert: Provide specialised technical advice to the Land Management Team regarding the assessment of development applications under the Planning Act 2016.
- High-Level Advisory: Deliver high-level written and oral advice on development matters related to the safety and efficiency of state transport corridors, ensuring strict adherence to legislated timeframes.
- Stakeholder & Political Liaison: Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal staff, State and Local Government agencies, and industry. You will officially represent the project on working groups, steering committees, and key stakeholder meetings.
- Corridor Governance: Provide assistance in the management and protection of the Coomera Connector transport corridor from a governance perspective. This includes advising on Ministerial correspondence and briefing notes as required by the Regional Director.
Essential Requirements to Apply
To hit the ground running in this critical PO4-level role, you must possess:
- Qualifications: A Degree in Town Planning or another relevant profession acceptable by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).
- Licence: Current holder of a 'C' class driver's license.
