Senior Technical Officer - Parks and Gardens
- $59.15 per hour + superannuation
- Contract through to January (contact extensions applicable)
- WFH Flexibility
- Brisbane based
Duties
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and related correspondence for various assets within Council parks across the city
- Prepare written correspondence in response to complaints relating to asset failure in parks, requiring maintenance or repairs.
- Key assets include playgrounds, fitness stations, dog off-leash areas, fencing and vegetation management.
- Develop job briefs and seek quotes
- Evaluate quotations received and execute minor procurement tasks if required e.g. prepare a contract for a contractor to sign if works are at a certain value.
- Monitor issued works to contractors to ensure successful completion against defined outcomes.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues relating to park asset management and repairs
- Primary systems are SAP, Council mapping software and Microsoft Suite
- Taking personal responsibility for development, performance, and outcomes.
- Managing relationships with contractors, internal teams, community members, and other stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- Financial and project management capabilities
- Ability to consult, advise, and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with your team leader to meet agreed performance standards.
- Experience in infrastructure (preferably parks) maintenance/repairs/management.
- Ability to coordinate delivery of services (maintenance, minor projects).
- Investigating and solving complex technical issues in parkland management.
- High-level communication skills and the ability to influence decisions.
