About the Role
Our client is a VIC Government organisation based in Abbotsford VIC. They are urgently seeking a Senior Revenue Officer (Debt Collection) to come in and work with them on a temp contract opportunity until 15th May with possible extensions.
Candidates for this role must have:
- Debt Collection/recoveries experience
- Local council or government experience
- TechOne system experience desirable
Key responsibilities include
Debt Recovery & Legal Action: Manage the full debt recovery lifecycle for rates and sundry debtors, including liaising with external agents, instigating legal action, and coordinating payment arrangements or pension agreements.
Revenue & Payment Processing: Execute daily financial operations, including processing direct debits, agency downloads, and PayReq bulk payments, while managing credit balances and rate refunds.
Customer Service & Inquiry Resolution: Provide high-quality support by resolving complex inquiries via phone, counter, and digital channels, ensuring responses are timely, accurate, and professional.
Data & Records Management: Maintain database integrity by managing returned mail, issuing rate notices or extracts, and performing regular audits and cleansing of digital files and networks.
Administrative & Branch Support: Ensure operational continuity by providing back-up for colleagues during absences and assisting leadership with administrative tasks to meet team goals.
Policy & Procedural Compliance: Execute all revenue and recovery activities in strict alignment with Council policies, legislative requirements, and internal standard operating procedures.
About You
You will be an experienced professional in debt collection with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Debt Collection experience
- Local council or government experience
- Data Entry Experience
- TechOne system experience desirable
