Randstad Defence are seeking a Senior Proposals Operations Manager to lead our client's most critical, high-value Defence and National Security tenders.
You'll be managing large Defence and National Security portfolios throughout the entire Proposal Development Lifecycle, leading the development of comprehensive proposal plans in line with ASDEFCON.

You will report to the Growth and Strategy Group Director and partner closely with a supportive team of proposal specialists and business development managers to communicate compelling customer focused solutions.
Minimum NV1 Security clearance and prior experience working with Defence/ ASDEFCON highly regarded.
About the Role:
You will:
- Lead Large-Scale Tenders: End-to-end management of complex Defence and National Security bids, ensuring alignment with global best practices and internal playbooks.
- Navigate the intricacies of Australian Government procurement for our highest-value, high-complexity opportunities.
- Identify and engage top-tier SMEs—from engineering and supply chain to commercial and pricing specialists—to build a formidable bid team.
- Direct Win Strategies: Facilitate storyboarding and strategy sessions that translate technical excellence into compelling win themes that maximise evaluation scores.
- Drive Quality & Governance: Oversee the end-to-end production process, coaching the bid team to elevate their output and managing rigorous review stage to ensure a "gold-standard" submission.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Chair structured kick-offs and reviews, keeping dispersed teams aligned on timelines, dependencies, and the capture strategy.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess a unique blend of technical discipline and leadership "DNA":
- The Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing, or Communications) or industry-recognised certifications (e.g., APMP).
- Defence Expertise: Proven experience managing large-scale Australian Defence proposals (ASDEFCON experience is highly regarded).
- Leadership Mastery: The ability to motivate and coach dispersed, multi-disciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
- Strategic Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Operational Excellence: An uncompromising eye for detail and a commitment to delivering flawless, high-quality results.
- Business Acumen: A deep understanding of consulting, financials, and program management within the global defence context.
Mandatory Requirement: Must be an Australian Citizen and currently hold (or be eligible to maintain) an NV1 Security Clearance as a minimum.
