Senior Project Officer - Policy Development & Strategic Planning
- Complex Project Planning
- Extensive Stakeholder Engagement
- 3-6 month Contract, CBD
I am seeking a high-calibre Senior Project Officer to lead the foundational mapping and design of a high-priority project plan. This is a critical role focused on establishing the roadmap for a major initiative spanning multiple government agencies.
The successful candidate will provide the strategic "connective tissue" required to turn complex policy goals into a structured, actionable project framework.
The Role
Working within a high-profile, fast-paced team, you will serve as the lead architect for a major Project Plan. You will be responsible for translating broad policy initiatives into a detailed implementation roadmap, ensuring all inter-dependencies across multi-disciplinary agencies are identified and managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Mapping: Develop a comprehensive project plan from inception, identifying critical paths, milestones, and inter-agency dependencies.
- High-Level Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate complex consultations across government agencies, community groups, and First Nations partners.
- Policy Translation: Apply a deep understanding of the policy development cycle to move from "long-listing" options to a finalised, time-bound project scope.
- Risk & Resource Integration: Use PMP tools to map requirements, risks, and resource allocations, ensuring the plan is robust and ready for execution.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Government Expertise: Essential experience within State or Local Government, including an instinct for navigating political imperatives.
- Mastery of Project Tools: Advanced proficiency in PMP methodologies/software to build sophisticated project architectures.
- Sophisticated Communication: The ability to distill complex data into succinct advice for executive-level stakeholders.
- Cultural Competency: Demonstrated experience in inclusive engagement, specifically with First Nations communities.
- Analytical Rigor: A proven track record of identifying "roadblock" issues before they arise and building contingencies into the project design.
