Randstad is currently partnering with a global leader in food processing and packaging solutions to find an experienced Project Manager for their Melbourne-based team. Our client is renowned for its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and "protecting what’s good," providing cutting-edge technology to the world’s largest food and beverage brands.
This is a 6–12 month contract opportunity with the potential for extension or a transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will hold overall responsibility for managing small-to-medium scale processing and packaging projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle-from work breakdown and planning to risk mitigation and final delivery.
- Rate: $80 – $100 per hour + Super (negotiable based on experience).
- Location: Based in Melbourne's Inner Suburbs.
- Travel: Approximately 35% domestic travel within Australia to visit client sites.
What You Will Do
- Project Leadership: Provide end-to-end execution, ensuring deliverables meet contract agreements and project charters.
- Planning & Governance: Utilize global systems (SAP, Planview, CPM) to meet project tollgates and milestones regarding time, budget, and quality.
- Risk & Change Management: Identify project risks, develop response plans, and manage scope changes through variation orders (VOs).
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage internal and external stakeholders while securing clear documentation and communication plans.
- Continuous Improvement: Support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and "Lessons Learned" methodologies to optimize systems.
Who You Are
- Experience: You possess 7-10+ years of proven project management experience, ideally within the Food and Beverage or FMCG industries.
- Education: A University degree in Engineering or a related technical field is highly preferred.
- Certifications: A solid foundation in Project Management fundamentals (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent).
- Industry Interest: An interest in exploring growth areas such as sustainability, wastewater, and plant-based products is highly regarded.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and analytical problem-solving skills.
