The Opportunity Our client is a premier, family-owned major property developer in South Australia with a 50-year legacy of shaping the Adelaide skyline. Known for their visionary economic planning and massive land bank, they are currently embarking on an aggressive construction program featuring several major high-rise projects (20+ storeys) in the Adelaide CBD.
Working alongside top-tier architectural studios and builders, this is a rare opportunity for a seasoned construction professional to lead a division and deliver landmark icons from concept to handover.
The Role
As the Senior Project Lead / Divisional Manager, you will hold a pivotal seat within the executive function, reporting directly to the Chairman. You will be responsible for the strategic direction and hands-on execution of the Projects/Developments Division.
This isn't just a "desk job"—it requires a leader who can navigate the boardroom and the construction site with equal proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
...End-to-End Delivery: Manage multiple high-rise projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Strategic Leadership: Lead, mentor, and performance-manage a dedicated team of construction professionals.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between the Chairman, Executives, consultants, and external builders.
Financial Oversight: Manage project feasibilities, business cases, and financier-funded progress claims ($100M+ scales).
Contract Management: Facilitate engagement with consultants and builders, ensuring "least-risk" contracts for the group.
Quality & Compliance: Maintain rigorous WHS standards and ensure all builds meet National Construction Codes and industry best practices.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be a heavyweight in the high-rise construction space. You possess an "entrepreneurial" mindset and the technical gravitas to challenge consultants and builders when necessary.
The Major Requirement:
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: 10+ years in construction project management, specifically in a leadership or "Project Lead" capacity.
Education: Tertiary Qualifications in Building & Construction or Project Management.
Technical Savvy: Sophisticated knowledge of project management methodologies and modern construction software.
Leadership: A collaborative partnering style with the ability to influence outcomes and resolve high-stakes conflicts.
Local Knowledge: Strong working relationships with local building authorities and trade networks is highly regarded.
