Our team is seeking an experienced and highly specialized Senior Project Engineer for a critical 6-month contract role, with a strong view to extend. This position is focused on leading the engineering activities for essential power supply systems and High Voltage (HV) infrastructure within a major project.
We require a technical leader capable of driving complex design, compliance, and site support across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Leading all engineering activities related to power supply systems, including substations, feeders, and HV cabling networks.
Developing, reviewing, and approving technical specifications, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
Ensuring all work adheres strictly to relevant standards (e.g., IEC, AS/NZS) and specific project requirements.
Managing the technical interface between electrical systems and other project disciplines (e.g., Civil, Signalling, Communications).
Overseeing and supporting the installation, testing, and commissioning of HV equipment and cabling on-site.
Providing expert technical support to the Construction Manager throughout the construction phase.
Conducting detailed risk assessments and ensuring strict adherence to project safety and quality standards.
Liaising with stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to promptly resolve complex technical issues.
Monitoring project progress, reporting on key milestones, and supporting delivery within budget and schedule parameters.
Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Engineer managing the delivery of High Voltage (HV) power supply projects.
Deep technical knowledge of HV cabling networks, substations, and electrical feeder systems.
Demonstrated ability to develop and review technical specifications and engineering documentation.
Expertise in relevant Australian and International standards (e.g., AS/NZS, IEC).
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
