Our client is an industry-defining Tier-1 mechanical services and HVAC contractor with a legacy of delivering some of Australia's most complex, iconic infrastructure, healthcare, and commercial data centre projects. Renowned for their cutting-edge prefabrication capabilities and end-to-end delivery, they pride themselves on engineering excellence that translates seamlessly from the screen to the job site.
Due to a rock-solid, multi-year pipeline of major project wins across NSW, they are looking for a powerhouse Senior Mechanical Revit Drafter to join their high-performing detailing team.
This is not a high-level BIM strategy or coordination role—this is a position for a highly skilled, technical detailer and modeller who loves the craft of drafting. Reporting to the Drafting Manager, you will take lead engineering concepts and transform them into highly accurate, constructible, and fully coordinated 3D Revit models.
You will be the bridge between design and manufacturing, focusing heavily on HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping layout, and complex plant room detailing.
Key Responsibilities
... - Produce highly detailed, clash-free 3D models of mechanical services (HVAC ductwork, acoustic treatments, chilled water, and condenser water piping systems) using Revit MEP.
- Generate accurate construction issue drawings, section details, and manufacturing-ready shop drawings/spool maps for prefabrication.
- Conduct internal spatial clash detection and resolution to ensure systems are optimised for site installation, maintenance access, and structural constraints.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to strict company presentation standards, client specifications, and relevant Australian Standards ($AS1668$ and $AS3666$).
- Work closely with project engineers, site managers, and the workshop fabrication team to resolve constructability issues prior to manufacturing.
Who you are
- You have a minimum of 5–7+ years of dedicated drafting experience within the Australian building services sector, with expert-level proficiency in Revit MEP.
- You possess a deep, practical understanding of mechanical services installation, including how ductwork fits together, how pipes are supported, and the clearance required in a plant room.
- You have a proven track record of delivering "buildable" models rather than just theoretical ones, with experience in modular/prefabricated plant design being highly desirable.
- You are strongly familiar with Navisworks (for self-clashing) and Bluebeam.
- You have excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal project teams and workshop staff.
You will benefit from the long-term job security of a strong pipeline of landmark, Tier-1 projects. The role is based in a modern, collaborative office hub equipped with state-of-the-art technology and onsite parking. You can expect clear career growth pathways into leadership or technical specialisations, supported by continuous training. Finally, you will join a supportive and driven team environment that values precision, celebrates collective wins, and maintains a genuine work-life balance.
