In this critical finance position, you will support the Accounting and Reporting Lead in delivering comprehensive statutory and management reporting, financial analysis-compliance obligations and continuous improvement initiatives across TasTAFE. You will play a vital role in ensuring that accurate, timely and insightful financial information is provided to support governance high-level decision making and organisational performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Statutory Compliance: Coordinating the preparation of TasTAFE’s Annual Audited Financial Statements and managing financial returns for Treasury and the Department of State Growth.
- Taxation Management: Preparing and coordinating complex taxation obligations, including FBT and GST lodgements and other relevant returns.
- Performance Insights: Developing management reporting, forecasts, commentary and performance insights for the Board, Executive and Senior Leadership Group.
- Financial Stewardship: Contributing to budget development, business planning, performance monitoring and the maintenance of the Financial Management System.
- Continuous Improvement: Advancing the TasTAFE business model to enhance the management of financial and technological resources.
About You
- Technical Expertise: You possess proven experience in financial management and business accounting processes including accrual accounting and statutory requirements and the preparation and coordination of annual audited financial statements.
- Analytical Depth: You have strong analytical capability, including the ability to simplify complex financial issues, undertake financial modelling and achieve results in dynamic environments.
- System Savvy: You are expert in operating and customising computerised financial systems, including advanced Excel Skills and report development. TechnologyOne experience will be highly regarded.
- Communication & Influence: You have high-level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and consult with diverse stakeholders.
- Organisational Excellence: You can coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities within strict timeframes.
Requirements
- Professional Credentials: Membership of CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or equivalent is essential.
- Education: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Compliance: Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People in Tasmania (or ability to obtain).
- Desirable: A current Tasmanian Driver’s License.
