Key Responsibilities:
Collection Management: Curating, cataloging, and maintaining a diverse range of age-appropriate resources.
Literacy Support: Running "Library Stars" sessions for primary students and supporting research skills for secondary students.
Environment: Creating a welcoming, inclusive, and quiet space for study and leisure reading.
Digital Leadership: Managing the school’s digital resource subscriptions and assisting staff/students with research databases.
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
Experience: Proven experience working in a library setting (preferably within an educational environment).
Compliance: A valid Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) is mandatory.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and teaching staff.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Library Management Systems (e.g., Oliver, Accessit) and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Extras:
A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Library and Information Studies.
Experience with VCE-level research requirements.
Knowledge of contemporary children's and young adult literature.
