The Opportunity
Join the Solutions and Platforms team at a major Australian bank, playing a significant role in transitioning one of the bank's largest data platforms to a cloud-based Azure environment. This role requires a blend of platform engineering expertise, a strong background in DevSecOps practices, and a passion for automation. You will be instrumental in delivering secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions that align with the bank's strategic data and advanced analytics goals.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Automation and CI/CD: Design, develop, test, and implement automated technical solutions. Drive and enhance CI/CD and DevSecOps practices in the Azure environment for cloud-native services and Kubernetes workloads.
Container and IaC Management: Deploy, configure, and manage containerized applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Helm, and Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies, secrets management, and data protection measures using tools such as HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, and CyberArk.
Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and Azure PaaS services.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks and operational procedures.
Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional technology and business teams to support the secure, scalable, and reliable delivery of data and analytics solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience
2-5 years of overall Platform Engineering experience.
Strong background in CI/CD methodologies and tools, specifically leveraging Terraform, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and GitHub Actions in a cloud environment (ideally Azure).
Proficiency in deploying and managing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container-based applications.
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, monitoring, automated governance, and compliance practices.
Proficiency in programming and scripting, such as Python or Bash.
Experience with secrets and key management solutions including HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, and CyberArk.
Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and Agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence).
Knowledge of Azure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and cloud networking/data security best practices.
Desirable Knowledge
Familiarity with Azure data technologies (e.g., Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks).
Exposure to SAS Viya 4 on Azure installation and administration.
Experience with DataOps and ModelOps methodologies.
