About the Role
Are you a safety professional who thrives in the field as much as in the boardroom? We are seeking a proactive Safety Coordinator to lead safety excellence across our regional civil and maintenance projects.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be the technical authority on WHS legislation and Main Roads SHW Standards. You will be an active partner to our project managers and work crews, ensuring that every person goes home safe, every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Safety: Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments for complex civil works and plant operations.
- Incident Leadership: Lead high-level ICAM investigations and provide specialist support for contractor incident reviews.
- Compliance & Training: Coordinate site inductions and safe work practice training; manage onsite drug and alcohol testing (HLTPAT005).
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build collaborative relationships with Corporate SHW sections, local government, and external contractors.
What You Bring (Mandatory Requirements)
To be successful in this role, you must hold the following qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or higher).
- ICAM Lead Investigator certification.
- HLTPAT005 (Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing).
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
Desirable Experience
- Demonstrated experience in Civil, Infrastructure, or Mining environments.
- Mental Health First Aid certification.
