Our busy Acute Medical/Surgical Ward offers a diverse and challenging caseload, providing you with the perfect opportunity to utilise your full scope of practice and advanced clinical skills.
About the Role Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be a senior clinical member of our nursing team. Your 4-5+ years of experience will be crucial in providing high-level, complex patient care and acting as a clinical resource for the ward. This role is perfect for a seasoned clinician who excels in hands-on acute care.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver expert, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse patient load, including acute medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical cases.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop complex care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
Manage complex clinical situations, including deteriorating patients, and respond effectively in emergencies.
Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure seamless and holistic patient care.
Champion patient safety, quality improvement initiatives, and infection control standards.
About You You are a confident, adaptable, and highly skilled RN with a proven track record in a fast-paced acute setting.
Essential Criteria:
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum 4-5 years postgraduate experience in an acute Medical/Surgical ward.
Advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
A strong commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement.
Desirable Criteria:
Postgraduate qualifications in Medical/Surgical or Acute Care nursing (or working towards).
Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
Experience in a regional or rural healthcare setting.
