Registered Nurse – Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) | Tailem Bend & Meningie
Are you a versatile Registered Nurse who thrives on variety? We are seeking a clinical "all-rounder" for a 1.0 FTE role supporting our Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) sites in Tailem Bend and Meningie. This is a unique opportunity to utilize your full scope of practice across Aged Care, Acute, and Emergency settings.
The Role & Facilities
You will work across two distinct sites, providing high-quality care and leadership as the primary clinician on shift:
...Tailem Bend: A 25-bed facility currently managing 19 Aged Care residents and 2 Acute patients.
Meningie: A 24-bed facility featuring 10 Aged Care beds and a busy 14-bed Acute ward (averaging 5–6 patients).
Emergency Care: The Meningie ED sees between 150 to 200 presentations per month, requiring a nurse who is confident in triage and rapid assessment.
What You’ll Do
As the lead RN, you must be prepared to act as the primary assessor for walk-in presentations. You will:
Perform ED Triage and Assessment for presentations ranging from minor injuries to critical concerns like chest pain or respiratory distress.
Execute clinical tasks including venepuncture (taking blood) and performing ECGs.
Provide comprehensive care in Aged Care, Acute Ward, and Palliative Care settings.
Lead the team and perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) alongside your staff to ensure holistic resident care.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of post-grad experience, preferably within an MPS environment.
Clinical Skills: Proficiency in Acute care and ED triage is essential. You must be able to think critically and take immediate action during clinical deterioration.
Certification: Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) is mandatory.
All-Rounder Mindset: Willingness to work across all areas of the facility, from high-level clinical assessment to daily personal care (ADLs).
