About the Role
Are you an experienced Quarry Operator ready to step up, lead from the front, and drive site productivity? We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Leading Hand & Multi-Skilled Operator to join a supportive and dynamic team.
In this dual-rate role, you will split your time between operating high-tonnage heavy mobile plant and serving as a critical link between site management and the crew. You will help coordinate daily operations, ensure safety compliance on the pit floor, and mentor other team members while keeping production moving.
This position offers excellent work-life balance with a Monday-to-Friday schedule, plenty of overtime opportunities, and clear pathways for career progression—including a strong possibility of transitioning into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
... Production & Leadership: Coordinate daily site tasks, collaborate with team members to hit production milestones, and lead by example on the floor.
Heavy Plant Operation: Proficiently operate large production machinery
Material Handling: Manage stockpiling, feed processing hoppers, and efficiently load/unload road transport trucks and dump trucks.
Maintenance & Compliance: Conduct thorough, mandatory pre-start inspections on machinery and report any faults immediately.
Safety & Environment: Actively promote and adhere to rigid health, safety, and environmental site policies, ensuring a zero-harm environment for your entire team.
What We Are Looking For
Proven Experience: Solid background working in a high-volume Quarry environment.
Valid Tickets: Mandatory RIIMPO national competencies (or equivalent) for both Front End Loader (LL) and Excavator (LE) and Haul trucks
Safety First Mindset: A proactive, positive attitude toward safety policies, risk assessments
Leadership Potential: Strong communication skills, reliability, and the drive to guide a team.
Fit-for-Work: Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment mining/quarry medical assessment, including respiratory surveillance (spirometry) and a drug and alcohol screen.
