Project Planning and Scheduling Specialist
Randstad are seeking immediate applications from available and suitable candidates for the role of Project Planning and Scheduling Specialist within a leading mining and resources organisation.
You will provide advice and execute tasks in the development and monitoring of plans and schedules, to maximise the efficient delivery of the project objectives.
Position
Reporting to the Senior Project Planner, your duties will include:
- Develop summary and detailed schedules for construction projects
- Develop baseline schedules and monitor/analyse schedules against established baselines
- Develop schedule development plans, the basis of schedule and schedule assurance reviews
- Participate in project team meetings and provide guidance on schedule progress, critical path, trends and forecasts
- Provide look-ahead schedules identifying key milestones and priority activities
- Review and provide risk based constructive feedback on contractor schedules and reports
- Identify activities that are material and critical to the project and business unit and effectively communicate these to the project team
- Monitor critical path activities and provide updates and analysis including possible mitigation efforts to minimise impacts
- Develop planned progress curves, forecast and analyse mid-month and monthly progress
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports detailing the risks associated with the project schedule
Skills and Experience
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Ability to establish and maintain clear lines of communication to enable a collective model of the planned activities represented in the project schedule
- Significant construction planning work experience
- Demonstrated list of achievements on past construction projects
- High level of proficiency with Primavera P6 and familiarity with MS Project
- Strong understanding of project risks and how to demonstrate within the project schedule
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Work well under pressure and deadline focused
- Consistent with a high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, proactive, credible and influential
Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and preference will be given to Adelaide based applicants with mining experience. Take this opportunity to secure a rare Adelaide based 6 month contract role with occasional site travel.
