A highly respected client within the civil infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong electrical background (HV/LV) to oversee the electrical aspects of significant water, wastewater, and recycled water projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a major joint venture between leading Tier 1 contractors, delivering essential services across Sydney Water’s North region, from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River, including the Hills Shire.
Our client is a key partner in a 10-year joint venture for Sydney Water’s North region. This ambitious program involves the design and construction of new assets such as pipelines, pump stations, and wastewater treatment plants, alongside the maintenance and facilities management of existing infrastructure. The joint venture is committed to enhancing water and wastewater services for over one million residents, driving innovation in design, construction, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
... - Lead the electrical (High Voltage/Low Voltage) aspects of water supply, wastewater, and recycled water projects, ensuring electrical design solutions meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Oversee project timelines, resources, and budgets for successful delivery, with a focus on electrical scope.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers and technicians, to achieve high-quality outcomes and meet key project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental practices, and industry standards, specifically related to electrical installations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts for electrical works.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and clients, ensuring strong communication and satisfaction throughout the electrical project lifecycle.
- Produce and review technical documentation, such as electrical project reports, risk assessments, and construction methodologies.
- Manage and mentor project teams, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and development opportunities to meet project requirements in electrical disciplines.
Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, an Electrical trade, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects, particularly within the water or utilities sector, with a strong focus on electrical HV/LV installations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design solutions for water and wastewater projects, including familiarity with HV/LV systems, control systems, and SCADA.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, specifically for electrical components.
- Experience working within joint venture environments and managing cross-disciplinary teams that include electrical specialists.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- A strong commitment to maintaining safety standards and ensuring environmental compliance on all projects, particularly concerning electrical safety.
