About the Role- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates, tender submissions and project budgets for new commercial civil construction projects.
- Review tender documents, drawings and scope. Complete accurate takeoffs, building detailed BOQs and preparing competitive pricing for earthworks, concrete and civil packages.
- Issue RFQs and obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Prepare tender summaries and handover notes so awarded projects move seamlessly from estimating to delivery.
- Plan and manage projects from award to completion, including procurement, scheduling, cost control and client communication.
- Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors and site activities to support safe and efficient delivery.
- Track project progress, manage variations and monitor financial performance.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support quality, safety and environmental compliance across all project activities.
- A minimum 5 years experience in estimating and project management within civil construction or commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, tendering, project costing, contracts and operations.
- Strong practical knowledge and ability to identify scope gaps, site issues, exclusions, inclusions, risks and opportunities.
- The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and technical documents.
- Sound commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and forecasts.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Ability to lead and influence others with solid communication skills across all levels.
- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused mindset.
- Expertise in using estimating, project management and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to set up and maintain pricing tools, rates catalogues and estimating templates, to improve use of estimating tools and workflows. Ability to manage document registers and construction programs.
- Ability to understand project workflows, work closely with site teams, collate site information, issue variations and keep projects on track.
- A solid understanding of construction safety requirements.
- Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications in construction, civil engineering, project management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
