Work description:
- Undertakes departmental-wide Finance System projects, of medium to high complexity, to meet agreed outcomes; including resource and budget management.
- Researches and investigates issues and/or develops and implements finance system projects and initiatives.
- Develops detailed project action plans, develop system test plans and leads system testing activities
- Establishes and maintains a network of key internal and external stakeholders to consult, facilitate and negotiate the development of information and support implementation of finance system projects and initiatives.
- Actively participates in project teams and/or relevant FPS teams and takes a proactive approach to the achievement of objectives.
- Adopts agreed project management methodologies, principles and templates.
- Prepares reports, briefings, project updates and other required written documentation.
- As assigned by the Manager Financial Systems, undertakes other duties.
- Manages, coordinates and directs project teams as required.
- Leads by example in being positive, flexible and adaptable to meet evolving business needs and takes responsibility for delivering key system outcomes and objectives.
Requirements:
- Considerable experience in working within a systems delivery environment for a large and complex organisation.
- Relevant project management skills within a business/finance systems environment; including the ability to deliver multiple projects and tasks within agreed timeframes.
- Ability to set work objectives, lead by example and take responsibility for the overall delivery of solution outcomes and objectives.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical and research skills, including the ability to provide solutions to problems in large and complex corporate systems.
- Ability to build, establish, manage and maintain effective communication and relationships with a variety of individuals by liaising, engaging and negotiating in a purposeful, concise and effective manner
