This is a senior leadership role where you won't just be managing a floor - you will be shaping the culture, safety, and strategic direction of a high-performing production and warehouse facility.
The Role
As the Production Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process, from raw materials to final logistics. You will be a key member of the Management Team and the WHS Committee, ensuring that operational efficiency never comes at the expense of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse production and warehouse team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Operations: Manage production planning, scheduling, and workflow in coordination with purchasing and installation teams.
- Lean Initiatives: Drive operational excellence by implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, waste reduction, and the 5S methodology.
- Safety & Compliance: Serve as a core member of the WHS Committee, ensuring strict adherence to Australian WHS legislation and maintaining a "safety-first" environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure all manufactured products meet rigorous Australian Standards and internal quality benchmarks.
Your Profile
We are looking for a decisive leader who understands the mechanics of a busy manufacturing plant and knows how to get the best out of their people.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven Leadership: Extensive experience in a production or manufacturing management role.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of warehousing, logistics, and inventory management.
- WHS Expertise: Strong grasp of Australian WHS legislation and experience conducting risk assessments/incident investigations.
- Lean Mindset: Demonstrated ability to apply Lean tools to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
- Qualifications: A valid Forklift license is essential.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interpret complex plans and manufacturing instructions.
Highly Regarded:
- Tertiary qualifications in Operations Management, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
- Certificate IV in WHS or Warehouse Management/Logistics.
