Are you a seasoned procurement professional with a knack for leadership? We are currently partnering with a prominent Local entity based in the vibrant hub of Abbotsford to find an experienced Procurement Team Lead for an immediate start.
This is a critical 3-month contract role designed for a high-level operator who can hit the ground running, manage a talented team, and ensure the highest standards of commercial integrity.
The Role
As the Procurement Team Lead, you will steer the daily procurement operations, overseeing sourcing strategies and contract lifecycles. You’ll be the "go-to" for compliance and probity, ensuring the organization achieves genuine value for money while fostering a high-performance culture within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead & Mentor: Provide day-to-day guidance to the procurement team to ensure effective project delivery.
Strategic Sourcing: Oversee end-to-end sourcing activities and complex contract negotiations.
Governance & Probity: Ensure all activities align with strict local government governance frameworks and legislative requirements.
Commercial Management: Apply whole-of-life costing methodologies and market assessment capabilities to drive optimal outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to internal departments, translating complex procurement needs into actionable results.
What You’ll Bring
Deep Expertise: Robust knowledge of procurement principles, governance, and probity (Local Government experience is highly regarded).
Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in contract negotiation and applying "Value for Money" frameworks.
Technical Versatility: Understanding of ICT/DTS procurement is a significant advantage.
Leadership Skills: Ability to manage multiple high-priority activities simultaneously while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.
Systems Savvy: Proficiency in modern procurement ERPs and analytical tools.
The Offer
Rate: $60 per hour + Superannuation.
Duration: 3-month initial contract with potential for extension.
