About the Role

Join a small, high-energy team preparing for Brisbane 2032. We are looking for a proactive Procurement Officer to support our end-to-end sourcing and routine contracting. This is a growth-focused environment perfect for someone who uses initiative and wants to expand their expertise. Experience is welcome but not essential – enthusiasm and a willingness to develop are valued just as highly.
You will provide vital contract support to the business while working closely with our Procurement Specialists and Director of Procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to procurement planning, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Deliver routine sourcing activities, including RFx development and management, negotiations, decision papers, and compliance tasks.
- Assist with contract negotiation, drafting and execution, working with the Legal team as required.
- Support contract management activities such as variations, extensions, issue resolution and contract closeout.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of procurement activities and contracts.
- Participate in supplier management, stakeholder interactions, community engagement, audits, reporting, and governance or system improvements.
Skills and Experience
- A team player who is happy to work in a small, collaborative and experienced team, and able to adapt as the organisation grows into a larger and more complex environment.
- Experience with procurement is preferred, however, other strong process delivery experience will also be highly regarded.
- Proven experience working autonomously and with limited supervision.
- Stakeholder engagement, both internal and external.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a process driven approach.
- Competent in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- An understanding of the Queensland Procurement Policy will be highly regarded.
