... Role Overview:
The Power BI Developer will play a critical role in designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports to support the organisation's data and analytics initiatives. This position will ensure the delivery of user-friendly and insightful visualisations to enable effective decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with data professionals and business stakeholders to create meaningful reporting solutions.
Key Deliverables:
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports that align with the organisation's Data, BI, and Analytics requirements.
• Create semantic models and optimise datasets for reporting purposes, ensuring alignment with the medallion architecture.
• Provide technical documentation for all Power BI solutions, including data sources, measures, and calculations.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and incorporate feedback to improve reporting solutions.
• Train business users on how to use Power BI dashboards and reports effectively.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
• Demonstrated experience in developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in SQL, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and Power Query.
• Strong understanding of data visualisation principles and best practices.
• Experience in creating and managing semantic models for reporting purposes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of the principles of data governance.
• Familiarity with medallion architecture (or equivalent: Raw, Standardised, Consumer layers).
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Development) DevOps processes.
• Knowledge of Azure Databricks and cloud data platforms.
• Experience working in an insurance business or other highly regulated environment.
• Experience analysing and visualising financial data.
• University Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
