About the role: Reporting into the Group Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for leading the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the organisation's employing entities. Your duties will include:
- Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, including Senior Payroll Officers and Payroll Officers, providing direction, support, and guidance
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of payroll, including weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and off-cycle processing of salaries and wages
- Proactively identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and simplify payroll processes and time and attendance optimisation
- Review and approve final banking files for all payroll payments and direct credits
- Build and maintain relationships with third-party payroll providers and external vendors to ensure service levels (SLAs) are met
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and Systems teams, regarding new system requirements and IR interpretations
- Support the testing and deployment of new systems configuration and lead change initiatives across the business
About you: You are a proactive and detail-oriented leader with a collaborative work style and a commitment to accuracy in payroll processing. In addition, you have:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role managing a team
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end payroll for multiple awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a high-performing payroll team
- In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and a strong understanding of pay accuracy issues
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to undertake high-level consultations and negotiations
- Proficiency in identifying and implementing efficiencies through a structured change management approach
