About the Role
We are currently working with a local government organization based in Logan QLD. They are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to come in and join their team on a temp contract basis until 30th June 2026
Candidates for this role must have:
- Knowledge of Technology One Payroll system (Desirable)
- Previous high volume experience with end to end Payroll processing
- Previous state or local government experience (Desirable).
Key responsibilities include:
- Data Integrity & Lifecycle Management: Maintain accurate employee master files, including bank details, superannuation, and work patterns, ensuring all changes carry appropriate authorizations.
- End-to-End Payroll Processing: Execute timely pay runs by inputting timesheets, overtime, and exception reports while ensuring correct costing and calculating back-pay when required.
- Compliance & Award Auditing: Audit trial pays and timesheets against relevant Awards to ensure data accuracy and report any procedural breaches or improper timekeeping.
- Expert Advisory & Communication: Provide confidential, timely advice to staff and stakeholders, proactively resolving escalated or complex payroll inquiries.
- Statutory Reporting: Prepare wage-related statistics and responses for external regulatory bodies, including the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Department of Human Services.
- Record Keeping & Disbursement: Manage the secure distribution of pay advices and maintain clear, factual records to meet internal and external auditing requirements.
About You
You will be an experienced Payroll Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Knowledge of Technology One Payroll system (Desirable)
- Previous high volume experience with end to end Payroll processing
- Previous state or local government experience (Desirable)
- Well developed knowledge and proven experience with computerised pay systems and associated accounting procedures.
- Prove ability to deliver excellent customer service and build collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholder
