This is a focused role within the Finance Department, responsible for efficiently managing the combined payroll and accounts payable functions. The position requires a reliable individual with practical experience in processing high-volume finance transactions and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Core Job Functions:
Weekly Payroll Execution: Manage the complete weekly payroll cycle, including accurate data entry, complex calculations, processing of statutory deductions (PAYG, Super, etc.), and timely payment.
Compliance & Inquiries: Verify employee entitlements, resolve payroll issues (anomalies), and manage inquiries from employees and external bodies (ATO, Fair Work). Handle all administration related to new hires and terminations in the company system.
Accounts Payable Processing: Perform end-to-end accounts payable duties, including processing all creditor and subcontractor invoices, obtaining authorization, scheduling payments, creating remittances, and monthly account reconciliation.
Administrative Support: Assist the Finance Manager with end-of-month procedures, support accident administration tasks, and provide guidance on finance processes to depot administrative staff.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will have experience in both payroll and accounts payable, preferably within an industrial setting. Required skills include:
Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation
Proficiency in finance/administration software.
Strong focus on detail and verifiable accuracy in all calculations and data entry.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider finance team.
