I’m recruiting for a Search Media position on behalf of a premier client in the Australian retail space. This is a strategic, "hands-on" role designed for a performance marketing expert who excels at maximizing ROI through sophisticated SEM strategies, with a specific focus on Google Shopping and Search performance.
You will step into a pivotal role responsible for high-level strategy, budget management, and advanced data analysis to drive acquisition and revenue targets.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Campaign Development: Design and execute data-informed SEM strategies to meet ambitious growth targets.
- Budget & Performance Forecasting: Oversee annual and quarterly budget allocations to maximize ROAS. You will use historical data and advanced methods to project KPI targets and adjust to shifting market demands.
- Advanced Data & Analytics: Utilize SQL and platforms like Google BigQuery to manipulate data and generate deep performance insights.
- Visual Storytelling: Use Looker Studio to create compelling data visualizations that translate complex metrics into actionable narratives for stakeholders.
- Audience Segmentation: Lead sophisticated targeting strategies using Customer Match and Custom Audiences to drive high-value conversions.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Act as the primary SEM contact, presenting insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Mentorship: Guide junior team members in developing their analytical skills and managing complex SEM challenges.
- Innovation: Stay at the forefront of emerging trends, including AI, automation, and Performance Max campaigns, to proactively test new growth opportunities.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a hands-on SEM role (ideally some from a large corporate setting)
- Platform Expertise: Proven experience with Search Ads 360 (SA360), GA4, and Adobe Analytics.
- Ad Tech: Proficiency with Ad Servers (e.g., Campaign Manager 360) and tagging solutions for measurement.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to perform keyword planning, forecasting, and cross-functional problem-solving.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience in team leadership and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
Desirable:
- Data Handling: Experience with SQL, BigQuery, and the transfer of large datasets via API or SFTP.
- Feed Management: Knowledge of ProductsUp or similar feed management portals.
- Marketing Integration: Understanding of how SEM integrates with display remarketing, onsite experience, and offline attribution.
- App Ecosystems: Experience driving usage within mobile app environments.
