Randstad is proud to be partnering with a leading contractor in the mining industry who provide drilling, blasting and bulk earthworks for clients in the mining and quarrying sectors across Australia.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mining Supervisor to join their team in South Australia. This critical role is integral to the safe and efficient execution of their open pit mining rehabilitation contract.
Reporting to the Mine Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supervising day-to-day mining operations, ensuring targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship.
About The Role
- Directly supervise mining and rehabilitation activities, including loading, hauling and auxiliary services in an open pit mining environment
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of machinery operators and support personnel
- Ensure all operations strictly comply with site safety procedures, mine plans, statutory regulations and company policies
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments
- Manage shift handovers and daily pre-start meetings
- Monitor production levels (BCM’s) against targets and implement corrective actions to optimize performance and efficiency
- Oversee the safe and efficient use of large heavy mobile equipment
- Accurately complete daily production reports, shift logs and incident reports
- Liaise with the technical services team to interpret and implement short-term mine plans
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) as a Mining Supervisor or similar leadership role within an open pit mining environment.
- A current Mining Supervisor qualification (eg G189)
- Previous operational experience and understanding of large scale mining equipment (Excavator, Dozer, Grader, Dump Truck, Water Cart, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of relevant SA WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage high performing teams teams
- Proven ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions under pressure, and manage competing priorities.
- Current driver's license and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen

This role is offered on a DIDO 14/7 rotating day/night roster, 12.5 hr shifts. Site location is approximately 2 hours drive East of Adelaide SA in the Murray Mallee region. Candidates must have reliable transport, live within reasonable commuting distance and be able to drive to/from site each swing. Modern site camp accommodation provided.
