The Opportunity
We are seeking a Minor Works Coordinator to join our Airport Operations – Facilities Maintenance team. This is a newly created position designed for a Junior Project Manager or Project Coordinator who is ready to take ownership of asset replacement and maintenance projects.
In this role, you will be the "boots on the ground," bridging the gap between office-based planning and site-based execution. You will manage a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from small-scale maintenance to $2 million asset renewals, covering building, structural, and electrical works across both the terminal and airside environments.
Key Responsibilities
... - Project Delivery: Manage the FM team’s Master Capital Plan, overseeing projects like air conditioning replacements, smart meter rollouts, airfield lighting maintenance, and landscape renewals.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with Asset Engineers, maintenance team leaders, and the property team to ensure operational continuity.
- Contractor Management: Regularly check on-site contractors to ensure safety compliance and high-quality delivery.
- Financial Governance: Manage minor works project budgets and assist in developing a 20-year rolling asset renewal program.
- Technical Support: Serve as the technical point of contact for FM capital and major OPEX projects, maintaining accurate data within our CMMS (Technology One).
Personal Attributes
You are a confident, adaptable communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are comfortable working independently but know when to lean on your team for support.
Essential Requirements:
- Formal qualifications in Project Management or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience in project coordination, maintenance contracts, and budget management.
- Experience managing contractors and suppliers in a live operational environment.
- Strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret commercial/contractual obligations.
- A "safety-first" mindset with the ability to navigate complex regulations and approval processes.
Desirable Experience:
- Background in asset management or facilities maintenance.
- Experience in similar complex environments such as hospitals, universities, hotels, or manufacturing sites.
- Knowledge of Technology One software.
