Note: This role falls under regional NSW, making it a viable option for those on certain regional visas (such as subclass 491), however, visa sponsorship is not offered.
The Role
As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be primarily responsible for the hands-on maintenance, repair, and optimal function of the heavy, mechanical fixed and mobile plant used to process raw materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fixed Plant Maintenance: Execute proactive and reactive maintenance on core quarry equipment, including crushers, conveyors, screening units, hoppers, and bins.
- Welding & Fabrication: Perform essential welding and fabrication tasks for repair, modification, and wear management on plant machinery.
- Fault Diagnosis: Quickly and accurately diagnose mechanical faults and execute timely repairs to minimise plant downtime.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with WHS standards and site operating procedures.
- Contractor Supervision (Allowance Applicable): Potentially oversee contractors on site, for which a leading hand allowance is paid.
What You Need to Succeed
Mandatory Requirements:
- A recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification (e.g., Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or Boilermaker).
- Proven, hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing heavy mechanical fixed plant
- The ability to work the standard Day Shift roster (typically 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Mon-Fri, with flexibility for earlier starts).
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Proficiency in various welding techniques.
- Experience with other relevant tickets (e.g., Working at Heights, Confined Space).
- Familiarity with quarry processing—crushing, screening, and material handling systems.
