The Opportunity
In this pivotal role, you will manage diverse maritime engineering assignments from initial client inquiry through to final delivery. You will serve as a technical lead, ensuring that solutions for wharves, jetties, marinas, and coastal protection are innovative, cost-effective, and compliant with relevant design codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and budget management to ensure the timely delivery of maritime infrastructure
- Technical Expertise: Apply engineering principles to coastal design, wave studies, and master planning while conducting thorough quality assurance reviews.
- Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a high performing and collaborative team environment.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing professional advice and tailored engineering solutions for marine environments.
- Strategic Growth: Assist leadership with workload forecasts and contribute to the preparation of proposals and new business opportunities.
About You
You’ve got a sharp technical mind, whether you're breaking down a complex coastal model for a client or working through construction solutions with the internal team. You’re proactive, you stay ahead of the curve regarding marine construction materials such as timber, steel, and you take real pride in seeing a job through from the first sketch to the final site inspection.
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Hold a Bachelor of Civil, Coastal, or Maritime Engineering (or equivalent).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in maritime or coastal engineering projects.
- Proven track record in marine construction methods, including piling, dredging, and wharf construction
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, design codes, and maritime legislation
