About the role:
Electro Optic Systems is seeking to employ a Logistics Procurement Manager. This role is responsible for the procurement and category management of logistics services for the EOS DS business and liaising with logistics counterparts in other EOS business units in Australia and overseas to obtain the best cost and service outcomes for EOS as a whole. The role is responsible for the procurement and oversight of all inbound and outbound shipments, supplier selection and management of the logistics services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure logistics services and manage freight provider selection through RFx processes, approvals, and systems.
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and CIPL for inbound/outbound deliveries.
- Streamline internal shipping documentation processes, including tracking, archiving, and retrieval systems.
- Develop and manage service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs with logistics providers; conduct reviews and implement improvements.
- Maintain freight cost matrices, supplier category overviews, and conduct spend/cost analysis for quotations and budgeting.
- Train and advise internal staff on shipping procedures and logistics solutions; provide frameworks for backup support during peak periods.
- Reconcile logistics invoices, code them correctly to projects/cost centres, and resolve discrepancies with stakeholders.
- Monitor freight movements, schedule deliveries, track shipments via control tower systems, and communicate delays to stakeholders.
- Support EOS’ certifications (DISP, ISO9001, Trusted Trader) by maintaining secure and compliant shipping systems.
- Manage regulatory reporting (e.g., AICIS), packaging standards, WHS participation.
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in business, logistics, management or similar fields and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Proficient in compliance with import/export regulations, ITAR, licensing, and customs processes in collaboration with Trade Compliance.
- Ability to work 5 days in office.
