🚨 Local Laws Officer 🚨
This is a dynamic, front-line role where you are the face of the Council, primarily interacting with residents in the field, explaining requirements, and ensuring compliance with local laws.
Key Details & Compensation
- Role: Local Laws Officer
- Contract: 12 weeks (Casual Agency) with strong potential for ongoing extension.
- Start Date: ASAP
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. (Occasional weekend shifts with notice after training).
- Pay Rate: $45 p/h + super. A higher rate may be negotiated for candidates with exceptional experience and the right motivational fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Engaging with residents, conducting door knocks, and representing the Council in the community.
- De-escalating customer frustration and communicating complex requirements with professionalism and clarity.
- Interpreting and applying local legislation and by-laws.
- Utilising field technology (handheld devices, body-worn cameras).
Your Essential Attributes (The 'Must-Haves')

- Local Laws experience is essential

- Customer Service Focus: Proven ability to communicate effectively, handle difficult conversations, and provide great community service.
- Flexibility: Availability for the required hours, including potential future weekend shifts.
- Tech Savvy: Basic to intermediate computer skills.
- Working Rights: Must have full Australian working rights & a valid and current drivers licence
