This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected mid-tier law firm with a strong insurance practice, based in the Melbourne CBD. The firm acts for a broad client base across insurance and litigation matters and is known for its supportive culture, flexible working arrangements, and genuine investment in its people.
The team is open to candidates from plaintiff or defendant backgrounds, as well as legal support professionals with transferable skills from insurance, personal injury, workers’ compensation, medical negligence or broader litigation practices.
The Role
You will provide end-to-end legal support to a collaborative insurance and litigation team, working closely with experienced lawyers on a range of matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, amending and formatting legal documents and correspondence
- File and matter management from open to close
- Diary management, billing and general matter administration
- Liaising with clients, insurers, counsel and internal stakeholders
- Providing proactive support to ensure matters run smoothly and efficiently

About You
You may be an experienced Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant currently supporting lawyers in:
- Insurance
- Personal injury, workers’ compensation or medical negligence
- General litigation or dispute resolution
- Corporate/Commercial
Candidates from both plaintiff and defendant firms are encouraged to apply, as are those with strong transferable legal support experience.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a law firm environment
- Strong organisational and document management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- A proactive, team-focused approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities with confidence
