We are seeking an experienced Lead Designer to drive a significant, multi-year greenfield initiative focused on modernising public transport information delivery. This program aims to design, test, and implement new digital bus stop signage solutions to enhance legibility across both metropolitan and regional areas.
This critical contract role runs for 12 months + extensions.
The Opportunity and Role Context
This position functions as a Lead Designer within a growing program team (expanding from two to seven personnel). The role requires a balanced 50/50 split between hands-on design execution and team leadership/guidance.
- Key Deliverable: You will be responsible for developing the complete design aesthetic and functional requirements for all new legibility products, guiding their progression from initial concept through to successful transition to Business-As-Usual (BAU).
- Scope of Work:
- Development, testing, and iteration of new digital products.
- Creation of comprehensive product and design documentation.
- Integration of new products into the existing network.
- Collaboration and consultation with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: You will be responsible for providing guidance and mentorship to a small design team.
Required Attributes and Cultural Fit
The ideal candidate will possess a results-driven mentality and the ability to operate effectively within a stakeholder-rich environment. We require an individual who is self-motivated and capable of providing program guidance autonomously.
- Decisive Leadership: Must be willing to champion the design vision and advocate for optimal solutions, even when differing stakeholder opinions are present.
- Experience: An established background as a senior or lead designer is required to capably lead the design stream of this program. We welcome candidates with diverse technical design expertise.
Contract and Logistics
- Location: CBD offices. The successful candidate is required to attend the Customer's Site for a minimum of three (3) days per week. Remote work is permitted for the remaining days.
