Role Purpose
The Junior Automation Engineer will provide technical support and assistance across the full project lifecycle, focusing on the programming, testing, and commissioning of automated machinery, robotic systems, and vision technology. You will contribute to delivering efficient and high-quality automation solutions to clients.
Key Learning & Focus Areas
You will be actively involved in supporting the team across:
- Software Development: Assisting in the development of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software under the guidance of Senior Engineers.
- Robotics Support: Learning to program, set up, and integrate industrial robotic systems.
- Vision System Implementation: Supporting the configuration and testing of industrial vision systems for applications like inspection and guidance.
- Testing & Commissioning: Participating in factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) and onsite commissioning activities.
- Documentation: Assisting with the creation of technical documentation, schematics review, and I/O lists.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Approx 2 years of relevant hands-on experience in industrial automation, robotics, or mechatronics (including placement/internship experience).
- Degree or Trade Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related discipline.
- Foundational knowledge and practical experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Basic understanding or exposure to industrial robotics and/or vision systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- A strong eagerness to learn, problem-solve, and take direction from senior staff.
