Junior C# / AWS Software Engineer | 6-Month Contract | Melbourne
Join a team building and improving cloud-native platforms that power real retail experiences at scale. This is a great opportunity for a junior engineer to grow their AWS serverless skills while working across order management, loyalty, voucher, and customer integration systems.
What you'll be doing
- Build and maintain features across serverless order management, loyalty, and voucher services
- Support existing AWS Lambda and API Gateway services
- Investigate production issues using logs, metrics, and alarms
- Contribute to documentation and operational runbooks
- Participate in code reviews and team design discussions
- Learn the domain across interconnected retail platforms and third-party integrations
What we're looking for
- Solid foundation in C# / .NET (6/8+), ASP.NET Core, and REST API development
- Early or growing experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, and EventBridge
- Comfort with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and pull request workflows
- Basic SQL and database fundamentals
- A testing mindset covering unit, integration, and mocking
- Curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to ask questions
Nice to have
- AWS SAM or CloudFormation
- OpenAPI / Swagger
- Experience in retail, loyalty, or e-commerce domains
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot
