Randstad Digital is looking to speak with Trainers who come from a Utilities background, have worked across complex Programs and ideally have some exposure with Operational Technology projects.
This position ensures employees are equipped to confidently operate new systems by providing clear, engaging, and accurate learning resources. As a key enabler of adoption and readiness across the Portfolio’s transformational initiatives, the role drives meaningful outcomes through active engagement with cross-functional teams and strong collaboration with business SMEs, business analysts, testers, training analysts, change leads, and stakeholders.
As part of the Training team within Change Enablement, the Trainer is responsible for designing and developing high-quality learning content and support materials for projects. The role works closely with the Training Lead, Training Analysts and Change Managers across the portfolio, to ensure training solutions are aligned with business needs and project objectives.
There are 2 x 12 month contracts available.
Responsibilities:
- Review and synthesise technical information from multiple sources including Vendor provided generic training materials, Azure DevOps Wikis, User Stories, and sprint artefacts.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owner/s, Training Analysts, Business Analysts, Developers, and SMEs to understand functional and non-functional aspects of the various Portfolio solutions.
- Work with Training Analysts to identify the range of learning and support materials (courses, work instructions, simulations, reference guides) that are needed to support the delivery of learning activities and ongoing operational use of the systems.
- Develop the course catalogue required to support training across the Portfolio.
- Source and/or develop and maintain the identified learning and support documentation including system user guides, training materials, process flows, and quick reference guides
- using instructional design and adult learning frameworks (e.g. ADDIE)
- Support knowledge transfer activities across development, operational and support teams.
- Package and prepare training content work packages for delivery via face-to-face, online or self-help access.
- Support Train-the-Trainer activities by providing content expertise and support to business trainers as they prepare for training deployment.
- Support Business Trainers as they deliver their training.
- •Support post-go-live education and reinforcement activities as part of the define “hypercare” approach.
- Recommend and implement improvements to documentation practices
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Technical Communication, Information Technology, Computer
- Science, Engineering, or a related field; OR Qualification and / or experience in training content development and delivery roles
- Experience with SCADA, EMS, or similar control systems in energy or utilities sectors.
