Role Overview
The Internal Sales and Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting Western Australia Operations by bridging technical sales, operations planning, supplier coordination, and project support. This role is designed for a technically minded individual who is comfortable engaging with customers and suppliers while ensuring efficient order processing and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Sales
- Reviews and assesses incoming customer enquiries.
- Engages directly with customers to understand technical and application requirements.
- Interfaces with suppliers and principals to clarify technical details and specifications.
- Prepares and issues accurate and timely customer quotations.
- Follows up on quotations and supports the conversion of quotes to purchase orders.
- Processes and manages customer purchase orders in accordance with internal procedures.
Operations & Inventory Management
- Conducts regular reviews of inventory levels and stock availability.
- Monitors consumption rates of key products and components.
- Plans and executes stock re-ordering to meet forecast demand and project requirements in consultation with the Operations Manager.
- Supports continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Project & Workshop Support
- Provides hands-on assembly and workshop support as required to meet project deadlines.
- Assists with the coordination of materials and components for project execution.
- Supports operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities across sales, operations, and project support.
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- High technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in internal sales, operations support, inventory management, or technical coordination is highly regarded.
- A demonstrated interest in engineering, instrumentation, electrical systems, or motion control is preferred but not essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, trades, or a related technical discipline are preferred but not essential.
- Must be based in Perth within easy commuting distance of Wangara.
