Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Audit and Management Review Officer for a 6-month assignment. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of internal safety auditing and management reviews.
The successful candidate will lead the continuous improvement of the organisational Zero Harm Management System and ensure the robust implementation of internal safety audit schedules.
Key Deliverables
- Audit Management: Implement and monitor the internal safety audit schedule.
- Leadership: Provide leadership in audits, taking the lead in specially requested audits and assisting with external audits.
- Risk Analysis: Utilise professional skills to conduct detailed risk-based audits, analyse outcomes, and recommend improvements to senior management.
- Corrective Actions: Maintain a system to record, monitor, and close out both internal and external corrective actions.
- Verification: Undertake regular follow-up reviews to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Reporting: Prepare executive summaries on audit results, findings, and trends for presentation to various leadership teams.
- Management Review: Manage the WHS Management Review process and associated reporting in the Zero Harm Quarterly Performance Report.
Required Skills & Experience
- Professional Expertise: Advanced auditing knowledge used to drive continuous improvement.
- Communication: Well-developed people and communication skills are essential to work effectively with others to get things done.
- Customer Focus: A strong background in customer service is mandatory; candidates with only auditing experience will not be suitable.
- Coordination: Strong coordination and prioritisation skills.
- Autonomy: Proven ability to work well independently with minimal supervision while managing time and workload effectively.
- Performance: Ability to work in partnership with team leaders to meet agreed performance standards.
