Are you a hands-on Project Manager with a solid background in Mechanical or Structural Engineering? Do you thrive in roles that bridge the gap between advanced 3D design design and physical, on-site project execution?
We are partnering with a premier technology and equipment manufacturer based in Adelaide to recruit a permanent Installation Project Manager. In this versatile role, you will take full ownership of the management, execution, and strategic development of equipment installation projects both across Australia and internationally.
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Customer Service, you will act as the primary point of contact for client installations, working closely with design technicians, workshops, and mine-site stakeholders from initial concept through to final verification.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Lifecycle Management: Successfully manage the end-to-end installation of specialized industrial products nationally and internationally, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Design & 3D Modelling: Work closely with the design team to create conceptual structural installation drawings using SolidWorks; manage 3D modeling and detailed design construction packages throughout the project lifecycle.
Site Deployment & Fieldwork: Travel to customer mine sites to scout prospective installation locations, perform measure-ups, supervise physical structural/civil sub-contractors, and complete on-site verifications.
Documentation & Controls: Prepare project schedules (MS Project), cost estimates, risk management reports, and crucial engineering documentation (Scope of Works, RFQs, RFIs, ITPs, and Management of Change).
Stakeholder Coordination: Lead client progress meetings via MS Teams to secure approval for designs and site activities; liaise with external engineering support for IFC drawing sign-offs and coordinate with fabrication workshops.
Reporting: Prepare and maintain monthly management and revenue reports for executive review.
Essential Characteristics:
Technical Background: Appropriate qualifications in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
Design/Drafting Skills: Direct design and drafting experience is essential, preferably utilizing SolidWorks, Autodesk, or similar computer-aided drafting platforms.
Project & Client Management: Proven project management capabilities paired with a strong customer focus and excellent communication skills.
Software Literacy: High-level computer skills, specifically with the MS Office suite, Excel, and MS Project.
Mobility: A valid car driver's license, a valid passport, and the absolute willingness to travel to domestic and international customer sites as required.
Site Compliance: Strict respect for zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policies when representing the company on mine and construction sites.
Desirable Characteristics:
Tertiary qualification in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
Prior engineering, construction, or civil project experience within the mining sector is highly advantageous.
A general understanding of single-phase 240V electrical systems, SCADA, or automated instrumentation networks.
A permanent, Adelaide-based position with true global project exposure.
