A Strategic WHS/IM Role within a Leading Public Sector Organisation.
We are seeking an experienced and Accredited Return to Work Injury Management Business Partner to join the Human Resources and Culture team of a key public sector entity in Greater Western Sydney. This role is essential for supporting the development and implementation of Work Health and Safety and Injury Management systems and policies.
Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)
As an IM expert, your core duties will include:
1. Claims and Compensation Management
Facilitate the injury management process from the initial report through to claim closure.
Process workers' compensation claims in compliance with required timeframes.
Calculate and ensure payment of entitlements.
Arrange reimbursement of workers' compensation payments from the Insurer.
Conduct ergonomic assessments as required.
2. Recover at Work Programs
Establish Recover at Work Plans in accordance with insurer and organisational procedures.
Monitor worker compliance and document the progress of injured workers' treatment and capacity to return to work.
Arrange early intervention contact in response to workplace injuries.
Attend medical appointments with stakeholders where appropriate.
Participate in claims review meetings with the Insurer.
3. Advice, Training, and Compliance
Provide advice and support to people leaders in injury management and recovery at work.
Undertake training of staff in IM and ensure compliance with all legislative requirements.
Participate in and provide guidance to the Health and Safety Committee.
Ensure regular internal WHSMS audits and monitor legislative compliance.
Maintain all databases for the recording of insurance claims information and statistics.
What You Must Bring
Essential:
Experience & Accreditation: Extensive relevant work experience in IM, including RTW accreditation.
Legislation: Demonstrated understanding of IM and Workers Compensation Legislation.
Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated experience and expertise in conflict resolution and negotiation skills with stakeholders.
Logistics: Current Class C Driver's Licence.
Communication & Accuracy: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable:
Tertiary qualification in Injury Management or a relevant field.
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
