About your new role
The Information & Privacy Officer is a specialized legal and administrative role focused on the lawful release of information and the protection of privacy. Working with limited supervision within the Government, Legislation & Privacy branch, the officer ensures the organization meets its statutory obligations under Victorian law.

What you will need to exceed
- Experience processing Freedom of Information requests and making reviewable decisions.
- A thorough working knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act
- Ability to respond to subpoenas, warrants, and statutory orders within legal timeframes.
- Skill in conducting comprehensive searches for paper and electronic records across the organization and its contractors.
- Ability to investigate privacy incident reports and assist in responding to breaches.
- Analyzing complex issues to form sound, legally compliant judgements.
- Skills in drafting and implementing internal privacy policies and training materials.
