Seeking a HR "IT-savvy" professional to take full ownership of our clients workforce lifecycle—from roster planning to payroll processing. Supporting 130 employees and reporting to the HR Manager, this role is perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy and accountability, with a keen eye for identifying trends and patterns within data.
Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the planning of rosters to ensure compliance with contractual staffing needs.
- Manage all roster changes, including sick leave and annual leave, and signal when staff movement triggers a need for recruitment.
- Approve daily timesheets, applying a deep understanding of relevant Awards, penalties, and allowances.
- Lead the fortnightly Australian payroll process, including superannuation, tax compliance, and annual reviews.
- Create and maintain reporting systems to highlight trends, monitor headcount, and support strategic decision-making.
- Drive improvements in our payroll and HRIS platforms.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need a blend of technical payroll knowledge and analytical curiosity:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in payroll, specifically within an industrial or manufacturing environment involving Award interpretation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and a high level of comfort with technology; experience with Cloud Payroll and Deputy is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in reporting and data analysis, with the ability to propose workable solutions to complex problems.
- A background or education in HR, Finance or Accounting is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a supportive approach to resolving staff queries.
