...About the Role
As the Risk and Compliance Officer, you are the architect of the College’s safety and regulatory frameworks. Reporting to the Principal and Business Manager, you will work within a complex organisational structure to foster a culture of accountability. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Risk Architecture: Identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks across all areas of school operations to keep the risk register current.
- Compliance Leadership: Ensuring the school meets rigorous standards for child protection, privacy, and workplace health and safety.
- Multicultural Engagement: Navigating a diverse community environment, supporting staff and students from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Policy & Strategy: Drafting and reviewing policies that align with best practices and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
- Incident Management: Coordinating the reporting and resolution of incidents, including WorkCover liaison and injury management.
- Safety Coordination: Serving as the Primary Fire Safety Advisor and the Return to Work Coordinator.
About You
We are seeking a polished professional who remains calm under pressure and values the ethos of an inclusive educational community. To be successful, you will possess:
- Specialist Expertise: Demonstrated experience in risk and compliance, with the ability to provide advice on complex issues.
- Cultural Competence: A desire to work within a multicultural environment, supporting a school that employs liaison officers for a wide range of different cultures.
- Regulatory Savvy: Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and familiarity with Queensland Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB) requirements.
- Essential Credentials: You must hold a current Queensland Working with Children Clearance (Blue Card).
- Analytical Mindset: Tertiary qualifications in Law, Risk Management, or Business, combined with high attention to detail.
