The Role: Drive Safety and Compliance
As our WHS Advisor, you will be instrumental in fostering a continuous improvement culture and ensuring a safe, healthy workplace for everyone. Your key focus will be hands-on support, advice, and assurance across all site activities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Site Monitoring & Advice: Actively monitor daily site tasks, providing expert advice on risks, controls, and best-practice management systems.
Compliance & Audits: Ensure absolute compliance with all regulatory, legislative, and company Health and Safety requirements. This includes conducting regular audits to verify adherence.
Incident Management: Investigate all injuries, incidents, and near misses, recommending and tracking timely corrective actions.
Training & Induction: Coordinate and ensure comprehensive OHS induction and training is provided to all employees and subcontractors.
Subcontractor Management: Manage and monitor Subcontractor compliance against WHS standards.
Injury Management: Co-ordinate return-to-work activities, supporting injured workers and facilitating a safe recovery.
Documentation: Contribute to the development of high-quality WHS documentation and training materials.
What You'll Bring
You are an influential safety leader with proven experience on major construction sites. You thrive on building relationships and proactively driving positive WHS outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
Experience: 5–10 years’ experience in a similar WHS Advisor role, ideally within the Civil Construction sector.
Qualifications: A relevant Degree, Diploma, or similar qualification in WHS.
Professionalism: Current membership in a relevant professional institution.
Influencing Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to positively influence workers and leaders to achieve improved Health and Safety outcomes.
Key Competencies: Excellent skills in time management, setting priorities, planning, communication, and organisation.
