Head of Enterprise Learning Business Development (Initially 3-Month Contract)

We are seeking a high-calibre business development leader for a 3-month contract to spearhead the growth of our enterprise learning initiatives and solidify our position as a preferred partner for corporate and government sectors.
The Role
As the Head of Enterprise Learning Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue and expanding our reach across corporations, SMEs, and government agencies. Reporting directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, you will act autonomously to identify, cultivate, and capitalise on new business opportunities. This is an entrepreneurial, solution-oriented role for a professional who can hit the ground running to manage a complex sales pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute sales and marketing strategies to grow profitable business from new and existing clients.
- Independently develop a robust sales pipeline and drive the process from prospecting and qualification through to a successful close.
- Work closely with internal academic teams and instructional designers to co-design fit-for-purpose learning solutions that address client-specific upskilling and reskilling needs.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with HR, Learning and Development (L&D), and Organisational Development (OD) leaders.
- Lead sales presentations and author winning, peer-reviewed proposals and tender submissions.
- Manage accurate sales reporting, record all activities in the Enterprise CRM, and prepare contracted budgets.
What We Are Looking For
- A proven track record in Sales or Business Development specifically within the education or consulting sector.
- Significant experience in deal origination and consulting with organisations on high-level learning and development needs.
- Superior negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and navigate a complex internal environment.
- Extensive experience using a CRM, preferably Salesforce, to manage customer relationships and data.
- An autonomous, hungry mindset with the ability to manage competing deadlines and travel as required to support sales efforts
