About the Client
Our client is an established, compliance-first Australian digital asset brokerage built on education and secure, transparent execution. Blending institutional-grade regulatory adherence with a personalised service model, they are launching a dedicated managed fund to provide wholesale and retail clients with structured access to the digital asset ecosystem.
The Opportunity
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and compliance-focused Fund Manager to join the team in the Melbourne CBD. Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), you will play a central role in the operational management, administrative compliance, and ongoing growth of the fund.
Critical Requirement: To be successful in this role, you must possess the credentials, track record, and industry longevity to qualify and act as a Responsible Manager (RM) under an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL).
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & RM Oversight: Act as a Responsible Manager (RM) to supervise and maintain compliance for the digital asset brokerage and managed fund frameworks.
Fund Administration & Controls: Oversee end-to-end compliance, internal operational workflows, and documentation via the AFSL provider.
Client Management: Lead the client onboarding and offboarding lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to strict KYC/AML/CTF procedures.
Investor Relations: Actively promote the fund through industry events, networking, and structured engagement initiatives to support asset growth.
Team Support & Stakeholder Liaison: Assist the CIO and trading desk with precise reporting and client communications while serving as a key point of contact for financial regulators, counterparties, and service providers.
What You Bring
Proven Fund Management Track Record: Direct experience working within a fund management team, family office, or corporate treasury environment.
AFSL Responsible Manager (RM) Competency: Mandatory eligibility and verified experience to back critical license authorisations across wholesale and retail markets.
Targeted License Exposure: Experience or capacity to sign off on AFSL authorisations including:
Providing General & Personal Advice (Retail & Wholesale)
Dealing by Issuing and Dealing on behalf of another (Securities, Derivatives, Managed Investment Schemes)
Custodial and Depository Services (Retail & Wholesale)
Market Making in Financial Products
Digital Asset Literacy: A strong, professional understanding of digital assets and macroeconomic market structures is highly desirable.
Qualifications: A tertiary degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related discipline is preferred.
