Role Description
This is a great opportunity for a Financial Accountant who’s ready for a challenge that goes beyond standard business-as-usual. You will be instrumental in the end-to-end financial accounting for a significant asset portfolio, with a strong focus on problem-solving and process improvement. For the right candidate, this permanent role offers a competitive salary of up to $130k + super, with WFH flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end month-end closing process, including the preparation of journals and management of key reconciliations.
- Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all accounts.
- Perform ad hoc accounting and financial tasks as required to support the wider finance team and business operations.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of financial systems and processes.
- Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register and ensuring accurate accounting for major infrastructure assets.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant accounting standards, internal policies, and statutory requirements.
- Provide valuable support during internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate financial treatment of asset-related activities and projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- CA/CPA qualification is essential.
- A background in a similar industry, such as energy, utilities, or natural resources, is a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in a Financial Accountant role.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proven appetite for driving change and process improvement.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial accounting standards and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
